He took his stage name, Khalifa, from an Arabic word that means successor. He released his first album in 2006, and has since had many popular songs reach no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On December 12, 2012 (12-12-12), the Pittsburgh City Council declared Wiz Khalifa day.
