Robert Peter "Robbie" Williams is an English singer, songwriter, and actor. He was a member of the pop group Take That from 1990 to 1995 and again from 2009 to 2012. He has also had commercial success as a solo artist. At 16, Williams became the youngest member of the pop group Take That. He finally cut his ties with Take That in 1996 but had to pay the group $200,000 in lost commission to do so. It has been claimed that Williams has sold more albums in the UK than any other British solo artist in history and has won more BRIT Awards than any other artist to date. Suffice is to say, Williams was justified in leaving the band after establishing an arguably more successful solo career glittered with many well known popular songs.
