A 5 Course Journey Through the Land of Fine Dining and Pianos

I’m sure many of you piano lovers will agree that the key to a good life is two-fold and rather simple.  It essentially starts with fine dining and ends in good music. For this very reason, we’ve decided to dedicate a whole blog post to these very two things, only merged. Yes, such a dream exists, and this blog post is all about foods that look like pianos. Because why should pianos only make music for your eardrums if they can make music for your taste buds too? Allow us to take you on a full-day 5-course journey consisting of breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner (with dessert!) all in the theme of music and delectable delights.

For breakfast: Piano Pancakes & A Hot Cup of Musical Love

Piano Pancakes

Who says it’s wrong to play with your food? How else are you supposed to play your piano pancake? We’re sure it’s not father Jim from Jim’s pancakes. The awesome dad has been delighting his young daughter every morning with a pancake designed into one of her favorite things, which apparently includes pianos!  The smile on his sweet little girl’s face says it all, music and food all in one is the ideal way to start the day.

Music Piano Coffee

To help you chow down your pancake-y breakfast goodness, a hot cup of cocoa or coffee is a must to get those taste buds awake and dancing. And for added jazz (pun intended), a dab of chocolate can go a long way in helping you get rid of those morning glooms.

For brunch: A Light Piano Sandwich and Sugary Black & White Snack

Granted, the words piano and light don’t often go together in a sentence, but in this case they do! Presenting to you a delicious and healthy snack made of veggies, grains, dairy and meat all in one and sculpted into a beautiful piano. Behold the Grand Piano Sandwich:

Piano Sandwich

After you’ve consumed your delicate little trinket sandwich, the best way to conclude your break is with the snack that was made for breaks. Yes, we’re talking about those delightful and crunchy kitkats, regular ones and white chocolate ones to be precise, because otherwise, you can’t make this:

Piano Biscuits

For lunch: Piano Bento Box

Piano Rice Bento Box

All closed up this just looks like an ordinary, boring blue lunch box. But open it up and a whole rainbow of colors immediately flood the eye, looking like one big edible music party! And at the center of it all lays the graceful piano, in this case made of sticky white rice (the kind used for sushi) and black tofu squares. We love the touch of the carrot musical notes too.

For dinner: Elegant Piano Colored Pasta & A Black and White Cocktail

Piano Pasta Cocktail

When we say the words piano and fine-dining, we assume you think perhaps of a classy piano bar that happens to also serve great food. But in fact, those two words can also refer to the exact same thing! Meet the ultimate dinner of the fine-dining music world, what we like to call Piano Farfalle Pasta with a shot of striped Zebra cocktail. These black and white delicacies are colored and striped just like our great musical love the piano, and they also happen to taste divine.  The black color of the pasta is made from natural squid ink and the white is the color of the regular dough. As for the cocktail, the bottom black is made of Kahlua, followed by the tan Bailey’s Irish Cream and topped off with a dollop of dark Grand Marnier. Delicious and beautiful and piano-themed all in one! And, if squid-ink pasta is not your forte, perhaps ramen noodles in the shape of the lovely piano will do the trick?

For dessert: A Small Piano

Piano Dessert

We present you with the most charming of desserts, delicate and sweet and almost too beautiful to eat! To finish your day the right way, the only two things you’ll need to ensure that you are in musical heaven are a piano and some chocolate, which is precisely what this dessert is.  Served at Hotel Tokyo in Japan, this most delicious piano is made of different types of chocolate mousse for the base, a strip of fine white chocolate for the keys, and decadent dark chocolate expertly cut into the thin yet grand wing of the grand piano. But now, as fun as it is to describe this dessert for you, we must wrap up as we’ve accidentally awoken the great hunger beast that was peacefully snoozing in our stomachs. So Ciao friends! We’re off to find the nearest kitchen, and we hope to make some music there.

So readers, we’d like to know, which of these yummy foods can’t you live without?
